PDC Leadership Announcement

It is with mixed emotions that we inform you that Mark F. Newman, MD, DHIP President, has been appointed Executive Vice President for Health Affairs at the University of Kentucky.  This is an outstanding opportunity for Mark to take his strategic leadership and vision to the next level and back to his home state.

During his three years as DHIP President, Mark has led the development of the DHIP’s first strategic plan, construction of the first DHIP-built medical office building, and unprecedented growth in physician workforce and patient care.  Prior to becoming DHIP President, he served 13 years as chair of the Department of Anesthesiology.

The DHIP is as strong as ever and well-positioned to tackle future opportunities and challenges. We have exciting opportunities ahead that will significantly strengthen the DHIP, and better position our members.

Over the coming weeks, the DHIP Board of Managers and administration will communicate an interim leadership plan to members and staff.

Please join us in thanking Mark for his dedicated service to Duke University, and wish him the very best as he starts a successful new endeavor at the University of Kentucky.
