Duke Low Vision/Vision Rehab OD
The Duke Eye Center is accepting applications for a highly qualified, full-time optometrist to join the Vision Rehabilitation and Performance Division in Durham, NC. Candidates with residency training and a strong background and interest in pediatric medical eye care and specialty in vision rehabilitation and sports performance are preferred. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The optometrist will be expected to function as an independent practitioner within the Division of Vision Rehabilitation and Performance and provide functional vision evaluations to help contribute to IEP’s for children and adolescents with visual impairments. The practitioner should also be able to manage all visual aspects of post-concussion syndrome in young athletes. This position will work closely with occupational therapists and athletic trainers, both within the Division and with Sports Medicine.
The position represents an opportunity for individuals with outstanding clinical skills, experience in the management of pediatric visual impairments, an interest in sports performance and concussion management, and a desire to be in an environment in which optometrists and ophthalmologists work in concert with a multidisciplinary team.
