Duke Surgery Seeks Acute Care General Surgeons for Community Practice

Duke Surgery is seeking Board Eligible or Board Certified surgeons with surgical critical care certification to join our community based practice on the campus of Duke Raleigh Hospital. Ideal candidates will be comfortable with routine general surgical procedures and have training in ACS/EGS as well as surgical critical care certification.  Interest in more complex sub-specialty areas is a plus.  Candidates would do general surgery and cover the Emergency Room during the day. Experience in a community practice setting is a plus.

These surgeons will be part of the Division of Trauma, Acute and Critical Care Surgery.  They will have the opportunity to participate in community based clinical research and work with residents on call. Salary and title will be commensurate with skills and experience.  The Department of Surgery offers a robust compensation plan that rewards clinical productivity and academic excellence. 

Duke Raleigh is a medical surgical hospital with a growing, successful multi-specialty surgical program that now includes neurosurgery, surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, breast surgery, thoracic surgery and vascular surgery. The hospital currently has a 15 bed medical surgical ICU. In 2021, Duke Raleigh will add a 160,000-square foot, six-story tower on the south side of the current hospital. The new tower will include a new OR space on the first floor with larger replacement ORs and more support space. When the new bed tower opens, there will be a new ICU split into medical and surgical units.
