Duke Surgery Seeks Melanoma Surgeon

Surgical Oncology

The Division of Surgical Oncology Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina, is seeking a melanoma surgeon to join the Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Oncology Program at Duke Cancer Institute. Successful candidates will be board-certified in general surgery and have fellowship training in surgical oncology and a focus on cutaneous oncology.  A demonstrated commitment to translational and/or clinical research related to melanoma and other cutaneous malignancies is a plus.

The Division of Surgical Oncology includes over 30 surgeons, with subspecialists in breast, melanoma, sarcoma, endocrine, HPB, and colorectal surgery.  The Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Oncology Program is administered through the Duke Cancer Institute and currently has 2 surgeons, 2 medical oncologists, 2 dermatologists, and 2 pathologists. Clinical responsibilities will include patient care at the Duke Cancer Institute as well as at Duke Hospital in Raleigh.  Dedicated time for research is expected. 

Academic rank will be determined based on individual qualifications.  It is anticipated that this position will consist of clinical activities and protected research time based on candidate’s qualifications.  The candidate will be expected to participate fully in the activities of the Division and Department, including clinical care, research, and teaching of medical students, surgery residents, fellows, and ancillary staff.
